Škoda Auto delivered altogether 630,032 vehicles to its customers in all its markets worldwide in 2007. The figure is by 14.5% higher than that reached over the previous year and is the Company's best ever sales result.In Western Europe, the strongest region in terms of sales of Škoda vehicles, the Company delivered 327,222 cars, thus increasing its market share to 2.2%. Despite the dramatic overall slump in the German market (-9.2% as compared with the previous year), Škoda managed to beat its last year's record with 118,692 newly registered vehicles and increased its market share to a record 3.8% (3.4% in 2006).Škoda has also improved its position in the domestic market – 64,306 newly registered Škoda vehicles in 2007 is 1.0% more than in 2006.With altogether 95,032 vehicles delivered in Eastern Europe, Škoda Auto's sales grew by 34% as compared to the previous year. The strongest country in the region was Russia. Compared with 2006, the number of vehicles sold in this country has almost doubled, reaching 27,535.The Chinese market is surpassing all expectations. Although the Octavia made in China was only launched in June, the Company delivered over 27,000 vehicles until the end of the year.The best-selling model in 2007 was the Škoda Octavia (limousine, estate (“Combi”) and Scout) – 237,422 Octavias in total is over 18% more than in the previous year. The Octavia Tour remains very popular, too. With 72,529 vehicles, the deliveries grew again (+4.6% as compared with the previous year).The Škoda Roomster was an important growth driver in 2007. With 66,661 vehicles sold in total, this variable MPV built a very good position in the first whole year of its market presence.The Company delivered 232,890 Fabias worldwide. Owing to changes made to this model last year, the figure is lower than that reached over the previous year.Despite the upcoming launch of the new-generation Superb, the sales of this model in 2007 (20,530 vehicles) are comparable with those achieved over the previous year.
